Farmers: They took out the tractors at the E65 junction

They demand immediate and fair compensation at 100% for the damages suffered from the floods of last September - They will seek a meeting with Kostas Tsiaras

Newsroom July 30 02:03

This morning the farmers of Karditsa held a mobilization with agricultural machinery and cars at the junction of E65 in response to the call of the United Federation of Agricultural Associations of Karditsa.

Among other things, the farmers are demanding immediate and fair compensation of 100% for the damages suffered from the floods of last September, to address the low prices of products and the high cost of production, with substantial support measures, but also to flesh out anti-flood projects that will shield the areas devastated by the onslaught of the latest disaster.

At the same time, they will seek a meeting with the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiaras, to whom they will make their demands and the framework of their claim known. They also stressed that if the government does not provide solutions, they will continue their struggle and will not abandon their cultivations and their villages.
