Banksy: Monkeys are the subject of the Artist’s new work in London – The third in three days

Two other works featuring elephants and a goat have also been revealed this week - He did not write a caption for any of his Instagram posts, sparking speculation about the meaning of his works

Banksy has posted a photo of yet another piece of art he created in London.

This is the third piece in a new animal-themed collection, depicting monkeys. It is the third composition of black figures since Monday, for which the Bristol street artist has claimed credit.

Banksy posted a photo on Instagram showing the monkeys seemingly hanging from a bridge at an East London subway station. The artwork was created on a bridge over Brick Lane, near a vintage clothing store and a café, not far from Shoreditch High Street, according to the BBC.

On Tuesday (6/8), the street artist posted a photo of two elephant silhouettes with their trunks facing each other. The piece was created on the side of a house in Chelsea.

At the start of the week, he shared a photo of graffiti depicting a goat perched on top of a wall near Kew Bridge in Richmond. The artist did not write a caption for any of his Instagram posts, which has led to online speculation about the meaning of his works.

The three monkeys have been associated with the Japanese proverb “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,” which involves three monkeys: Mizaru, who covers his eyes, sees no evil; Kikazaru, who covers his ears, hears no evil; and Iwazaru, who covers his mouth, speaks no evil. In Banksy’s work, the monkeys do not cover their eyes, ears, or mouths.
