An urgent investigation into the dead fish in the Pagasitikos has been ordered by the prosecutor of the Supreme Court Georgia Adilini.

The prosecutor in a letter to the head of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Volos Prosecutor’s Office asks to investigate any criminal responsibility for the situation that has been created

She asks to investigate if and why the barrage leading to the tunnel, which is the only way out for the waters of the entire Larissa-Karla plain to the Pagasitikos, was open, and in general how the operation of the tunnel is regulated.

Given the nightmarish picture of tons of dead fish in Lake Karla in Pagasitikos, and with obvious adverse effects on the environment, public health, and the economic life of the prefecture, please conduct an urgent preliminary examination to investigate, inter alia, whether and why the barrage leading to the tunnel, which is the only outlet for the waters of the entire plain of Larissa-Karla to the Pagasitikos, should have been open and, in general, how the operation of the tunnel is regulated.
