In a post, the director of the National Meteorological Service, Thodoris Kolydas, discusses autumn rains expected during the week, which may be locally intense.

Specifically, he notes:

For tomorrow, Tuesday (September 17), rain and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated mainly in Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, eastern Central Greece, Evia, and the Ionian. The phenomena may be locally intense in the western regions in the evening.

Forecast for Wednesday (September 18)

In the Ionian, Epirus, western Central Greece, Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, and northern Evia, there will be cloud cover with rain and thunderstorms, which are likely to be locally strong, especially in the Ionian and Thessaly. In the evening, these phenomena will weaken temporarily. In the remaining mainland areas (excluding Thrace) and southern Evia, the weather will be unstable with periods of increased cloudiness and local rain and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the midday and afternoon hours. In the rest of the country, there will be sparse clouds, occasionally thicker.

Forecast for Thursday (September 19)

In the Ionian, Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, and northern Evia, there will be cloud cover with local rain and sporadic thunderstorms, which may be temporarily strong in the Ionian. In the evening, the phenomena will weaken. In the remaining mainland areas, southern Evia, and the mountainous regions of Crete, there will be few clouds, temporarily increased in the midday and afternoon hours, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms. In the rest of the country, there will be sparse clouds, occasionally thicker.

Forecast for Friday (September 20)

Initially, in the western regions, Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, and northern Evia, there will be cloud cover with temporary increases, local rain, and sporadic thunderstorms, mainly in the Ionian. The phenomena will gradually extend to the rest of the mainland (excluding Thrace). In the remaining island regions, there will be sparse clouds that will gradually thicken from the west.

Forecast for Saturday (September 21)

In the Ionian, mainland areas (excluding Thrace), the Sporades, and Evia, there will be cloud cover with local rain and thunderstorms, mainly until the afternoon. In the rest of the country, there will be clouds, locally and intermittently increased.

Detailed Forecast for Tuesday According to the Hellenic Meteorological Service

Rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected mainly in Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, eastern Central Greece, Evia, and the Ionian. The phenomena may be locally intense in the western regions in the evening. Winds will blow from southern directions in the Ionian at 3 to 5 Beaufort and from northern directions in the Aegean with the same intensity. The temperature will not change significantly. It will reach 24 to 26 degrees Celsius in the western and northern regions and 26 to 28 degrees Celsius in the eastern and southern regions.
