Turkish authorities have also identified the woman involved in yesterday’s terrorist attack at the Aerospace Industry on the outskirts of Ankara. According to the Interior Minister’s statement, the woman is Mine Sevjin Alçiçek, who was also a member of the PKK. Earlier, the identity of her accomplice was revealed.

In the statement, posted on his Twitter account, Gerlickaya said“The identity of the female terrorist who was eliminated in the treasonous terrorist attack at TAI has also been revealed. She was found to be Mine Sevjin Alçiçek, a member of the PKK terrorist organization. It became clear that both terrorists who attacked TAI were members of the PKK. We are determined to eliminate from our territories the treacherous terrorist organization that threatens the unity, solidarity, and peace of our country. Once again I wish God’s mercy on our martyrs and a speedy recovery to our wounded.”

Meanwhile, the identity of the male terrorist was released earlier by Gerlikaya. In a post on Twitter, he wrote that he was“Ali Örek, code-named Rojger, a member of the PKK terrorist organization,” while adding that efforts are ongoing to identify his female accomplice.

“The identity of the male terrorist who was neutralized in the treacherous terrorist attack that took place yesterday in TAI has been revealed. It was found that the traitor was Ali Örek, code-named Rojger, a member of the PKK terrorist organization. Efforts to identify the female terrorist are continuing. Once again, I wish God’s mercy on our martyrs and a speedy recovery for our wounded. No terrorist attack can deter us and intimidate our beloved nation.”Girlikaya wrote.

Earlier, HaberTurk reported that the male attacker, who was born in 1992 in the Beytüşşebap region, had been a member of the RKP since 2016.

How the two terrorists acted

New information on how the man and woman who carried out a terrorist attack at the facilities of the Turkish Aerospace Industry (TUSAŞ) on Wednesday afternoon acted has been brought to light by Turkish media.

As reported by Hurryiet, the two dragons had conducted a scouting mission of the site before their strike, even posting a photo in which the couple was allegedly shown holding hands, allegedly unconcernedly documenting security measures and the TUSAŞ grounds.

According to the version presented by Turkish media, the man was killed by gunfire exchanged with security men at the facility, while the woman was blown up with a grenade when she found she could not evade capture.

The five victims

Turkish media also released the names and photos of the victims of the terrorist attack.

They are:

• Zahide Güçlü, a mechanical engineer at TUSAŞ
• Cengiz Coşkun, Quality Control Manager at TUSAŞ
• Hüseyin Canmaz, employee at TUSAŞ
• Atakan Şahin Erdoğan, security officer
• Murat Arslan, the taxi driver who was murdered by the terrorists to take the vehicle in which they arrived at the entrance of TUSAŞ

Zahide Güçlü, who was a mother of two children, was reported to she fallen dead just as she had arrived at the gate of the TUSAŞ facility to pick up the flowers her husband had sent her as they celebrated their wedding anniversary.

The theft of the taxi

As for the theft of the taxi in which the terrorists arrived at the Aerospace Industries facility, it occurred about 45 minutes before the attack.

Turkish media described that they got into Arslan’s taxi and told him “we want to go to the center of Ankara.”

At one point he was asked to stop for one of them to allegedly have a cigarette, and then he was shot. They then put the taxi driver’s lifeless body in the trunk and headed to the TUSAŞ

“They shot him in the back,” said Arslan’s father, who was a father of three.

Turkey’s first response

The Turkish Defense Ministry said after midnight that bombed “thirty-two targets”, positions of the PKK and its allies, in northern Iraq and Syrian territory, a few hours after the attack in Ankara which killed five people and was attributed to the Kurdish separatist armed movement by the Turkish authorities. “As allowed by our right to legitimate defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, an air operation was conducted against terrorist targets in northern Iraq and Syria (…), and a total of 32 terrorist-owned targets were successfully destroyed,” the ministry said in the press release it issued, specifying that “air operations are continuing.”
