The mood remains tense in the ranks of SYRIZA, with Kasselistas flocking outside Gazi Live, where the extraordinary congress begins today.

The SYRIZA president himself has not yet arrived at the congress venue, while his staff said he had not attended as he had not received his accreditation.

Sources in the majority, however, said that the former SYRIZA president has most likely given an American cell phone to the party – or that he may not have registered a cell phone number in the registry – and the system does not allow them to send a message (SMS) to an American number – that is why they have sent him an email about it, but…he probably had not seen it.

Kasselakis’ sources said that he eventually received an accreditation email and is now a member, denying the US cell phone story…
