Kasselakis insists on the “hinds” for Polakis: “You start by hiding information – even from the Prime Minister himself – and end up in an internal party coup”

Citing earlier statements by Alexis Tsipras himself, he leaves new hinds for Pavlos Polakis and for those who knew about the existence of dead people in Mati, before the meeting under the then PM

Newsroom November 16 03:28

The open war between Stefanos Kasselakis and Pavlos Polakis rages on with unabated intensity. Speaking on ANT1 today, Kasselakis hinted at those who knew about the presence of casualties in Mati, effectively targeting Pavlos Polakis. However, the MP for Chania and SYRIZA leadership candidate did not leave Kasselakis’ claims unanswered, referring to him, among other things, as “Mitsotakis’ lackey.”

Earlier today, the former SYRIZA president posted on Twitter: “This is how it works in politics. You start with concealing information—even from the Prime Minister himself!—and end up with an internal party coup.” With this statement and citing previous remarks by Alexis Tsipras, he launched fresh accusations against Polakis and those aware of the casualties in Mati before the briefing at the Fire Department’s Operations Center under the then Prime Minister.

In a new post, citing Alexis Tsipras’ words from a July 2, 2019 interview with SKAI, Kasselakis specifically wrote:

Excerpt from Alexis Tsipras’ interview (2/7/2019). On his ministers who didn’t inform him about the casualties in Mati while they knew. They didn’t inform him because the cameras were on! This is how it works in politics. You start with concealing information—even from the Prime Minister himself!—and end up with an internal party coup. And then the opposing party comes to power, not only concealing but editing, covering up, and manipulating justice. This rotten political system will only change if we change it together.

Pavlos Polakis delivered a harsh response via Facebook, calling Stefanos Kasselakis “Mitsotakis’ lackey.” He emphatically wrote: “I’ll teach you respect.”

Specifically, he wrote:

THE MASKS HAVE FALLEN! The—now blatantly obvious—lackey of Mitsotakis was forced by his sponsors to reveal himself. He misled with lies, incited good people with lies, and continues with lies. ON MITSOTAKIS’ ORDERS, he reignites the anti-SYRIZA front using ‘MATI’ as a tool to execute his now evident secret plan: the dismantling of SYRIZA PS. The master of opacity, with his false wealth declarations, regurgitates vile accusations against Alexis Tsipras’ government and ALL members, friends, and executives of the party. With his disgraceful stance, he awakens the democratic reflexes of the members and supporters he misled and for whom SYRIZA PS was, is, and will remain their home! We elect a President and begin the fight for an uncompromised Greece, free from corruption. For an HONEST GREECE, where neither he nor his patron Mitsotakis will find a place to stand. STEFANOS, PLAIN AND SIMPLE, if the members and friends of SYRIZA PS elect me as their President, I promise to teach you and your patron what ‘a liar and a thief are only celebrated in their first year’ truly means! I’LL TEACH YOU RESPECT!
