Sean “Diddy” Combs remains in jail – $50 million bail also denied

It was the music producer's 4th request for release in preparation for his May 2025 trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges

Newsroom November 28 02:51

The music producer of rap and hip hop Sean “Diddy” Combs remains in custody at the Brooklyn Federal Prison pending his trial on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

The music producer, also known as Puff Daddy, had filed a new request for release, asking for $50 million bail in preparation for his trial set for May 2025, but this time it was not granted by the court.

Diddy made the new request on Nov. 8, citing changes in his detention conditions and new evidence to allow him to prepare outside the Brooklyn Detention Center, where he has been held since September.

The proposal included a “much more stringent” bail package, with 24-hour monitoring, house arrest and a ban on contact with any person outside his legal team. Additional measures included restrictions on internet and phone access, and a visitor list consisting solely of selected members of his family. In addition, Diddy had pledged to surrender his passports and the passports of his family members.

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian announced the latest decision to deny bail by written order after hearing arguments during a two-hour hearing on Nov. 22 in Manhattan federal court.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit racketeering and sex trafficking in September. He has been in jail for the past 10 weeks.

The hip-hop mogul has pleaded not guilty to charges that he coerced and abused women for years with the help of a network of associates and employees while silencing victims with extortion and violence – including kidnappings, arson and physical beatings.
