Intense reactions were sparked in France by the phrase “she’s more woman than ever” used by the magazine Madame Figaro to describe the 13-year-old daughter of Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni, Julia.

Prompted by the videos posted by 13-year-old Julia Sarkozy on TikTok, the French magazine wrote about the daughter of the former French president: “We discovered a teenager who is more woman than ever,” a description that was considered shocking by many commentators, who pointed out that “she is just a child.”

Spurred by videos posted by 13-year-old Julia Sarkozy on TikTok, the French magazine wrote of the former French president’s daughter “we have discovered a teenager who is more womanly than ever”, a description that was deemed shocking by several commentators who pointed out that “she is only a child.”

“Madame Figaro, you are writing about a 13-year-old child. Such descriptions are inappropriate and irresponsible. I urge you to think before using such expressions,” wrote the former French Minister for European Affairs, Nathalie Loiseau, on X.

After the backlash, the controversial post by the French magazine was taken down from X, although Madame Figaro did not retract the article or apologize for the controversial descriptions.
