The intervention of the police officers proved to be life-saving after they were alerted about a man falling into the Thermaic Gulf, near a pumping station.

As seen in the video released by the Hellenic Police, the Thessaloniki Immediate Action police officers initially try to reassure the man, telling him, “We’ve got you, don’t worry.”

One of them then gave the signal, “One-two-three, let’s pull him,” and the man was pulled out of the water.

Police officers immediately responded to a call from the Thessaloniki Immediate Action Center about an individual who had fallen into the sea, near a pumping station.

Upon arriving at the scene, they spotted the individual in the water, under the pier, trying to stay afloat without any support. The officers, using a work ladder they found at the pumping station, extended it toward the sea and instructed the individual to hold onto it. With coordinated efforts, they managed to pull him to the surface and free him.

They then provided first aid, covered him with a blanket to prevent hypothermia, and an ambulance arrived at the scene to take him to the hospital.

The officers’ actions highlighted their readiness and dedication to protecting human life.
