Epiphany: Where the political leaders will celebrate – Mitsotakis at Dexamenis

The ceremonies for the Blessing of the Waters will take place across the country, with the participation of large crowds of believers

Political leaders and the President of the Republic are set to partake in the celebration of Epiphany, attending the traditional religious ceremonies in various parts of Greece and abroad.

The Blessing of the Waters ceremonies will be held nationwide, drawing large crowds of faithful and garnering significant attention and symbolic importance.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will attend the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Dionysius the Areopagite in Athens. Following the service, he will participate in the Blessing of the Waters ceremony at the Dexamenis Reservoir in Athens, where the Holy Cross will be ceremonially immersed.

President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will travel to Kilkis to attend the religious events for the Blessing of the Waters. Her presence underscores the significance of the day for all regions of the country.

Nikos Androulakis, leader of the PASOK-Movement for Change, is in Istanbul, where he will attend the patriarchal and synodal Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. George, officiated by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. He will then witness the immersion of the Holy Cross in the Golden Horn.

Sokratis Famellos, leader of SYRIZA–Progressive Alliance, will attend the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Piraeus. Immediately after, he will participate in the Cross immersion ceremony at the pier opposite the Church of Saint Spyridon.
