Sworn Administrative Inquiry for the elevator accident at the “Red Cross” hospital

Four people were in the elevator, including a patient who had been discharged, his companion, and two paramedics from a private ambulance service, who sustained minor injuries

The injured individuals from the elevator fall are under observation at the Korgialenio-Benakeio Hospital.

Specifically, according to a statement from the hospital’s administration:
“An accident occurred in elevator No. 6 at midday. Regarding the incident, we inform you of the following:

  • Four people were in the elevator: a patient who had been discharged, his companion, and two paramedics from a private ambulance service.
  • The injured were examined by medical staff, who determined they had sustained minor injuries and are under observation.
  • The elevator in question adhered to all safety regulations. The last two maintenance checks were carried out on 02/12/2024 and 19/12/2024, and the maintenance contract for the elevators is valid.
  • A Sworn Administrative Inquiry has been ordered by the 1st Regional Health Authority to investigate the circumstances of the incident.”
