Ramaswamy and Musk “map” the US Treasury before they start the cuts

The DOGE delegates have already been to more than 10 federal agencies as well as ministries

Newsroom January 10 08:42

Before Vivek Ramaswamy and his “co-minister” Elon Musk have even officially taken over to transform, as they claim, the American public sector, they have gotten to work.

A Washington Post report that they have dispatched staffers to several agencies ahead of the launch of DOGE, the Department for Government Efficiency that will be tasked with making big cuts.

The delegates have already been to more than 10 federal agencies as well as ministries.

Among them are the Treasury Department, the IRS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as Health and Human Services.

Meanwhile, the DOGE staffing continues with a goal of 100 hires by the time Trump is sworn in and takes office on January 20. About 50 employees are working out of SpaceX’s Washington, D.C., offices.

DOGE will not have cabinet status, despite the lofty goals he is being asked to fulfill.

The U.S. newspaper also notes that Musk and Ramaswamy are facing suspicion and resistance from career workers in government agencies, in part because of critical comments they have made in the past.

Musk has previously set a goal of $2 trillion in spending cuts. More recently he has acknowledged that this amount may be unattainable. “I think if we try for $2 trillion, we have a good chance of getting $1 trillion,” he said.
