Weather: A few showers and a drop in temperature today – The mercury rises again from Thursday

The weather today, Tuesday, will roll in with some rain and a slight drop in temperatures toward maximum temperatures, with a new rise in temperatures starting Thursday.

The weather forecast for today

Scattered clouds with localised showers mainly in the west and eastern islands. Sporadic thunderstorms will occur from time to time in the Ionian Sea and the western mainland and in the evening hours in the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. Occasional snowfall will occur in the mountains of Epirus, Macedonia and Thessaly.

Winds will blow in the west east southeast at 3 to 5 Beaufort, which will quickly shift to west northwest with the same intensity. In the east it will blow north northwest 3 to 5 winds that will quickly change to south southwest with the same intensity.

The temperature will drop slightly to its maximum values mainly in the north where it will reach 09 to 11 degrees Celsius. In the rest of the mainland and the Ionian Sea it will reach 15 to 17 degrees Celsius and in the eastern islands 17 to 18 and locally in the Dodecanese and Crete 19 degrees Celsius. In the morning and evening hours there will be frost in places on the northern continent.

Tomorrow Wednesday in the Ionian Sea, the western mainland, the Cyclades, Crete, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese cloudy with local rain and mainly in the morning hours sporadic thunderstorms. In the rest of the country partly cloudy. Winds will blow from westerly directions 3 to 4 and in the southern seas locally 5 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly in the east. It will reach 10 to 12 degrees Celsius in the north, 14 to 16 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and the Ionian Sea and 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in the rest of the island country. In the morning and evening hours there will be frost in the north.

On Thursday a few clouds, partly increasing in the eastern and southern islands in the morning, when there will be some local rain. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be limited in some places and fog will occur on the mainland. Winds in the north will initially be variable 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually from southerly directions up to 5 Beaufort. In the south, winds will blow from westerly directions at 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the sea locally at 5 Beaufort. The temperature will rise slightly mainly in the west and north.

On Friday a few clouds, partly cloudy with local rain in the northwest, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese where isolated thunderstorms are likely to occur. Visibility on the mainland in the morning and evening hours will be limited in places. Winds will blow from southerly directions from 3 to 5 Beaufort and occasionally in the Ionian Sea up to 6 Beaufort. At night in the northwest, northerly winds of 3 to 5 Beaufort will prevail. The temperature will rise slightly further, mainly in the south.

On Saturday a few clouds, locally increasing in the eastern island country where local showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms will occur. Visibility on the mainland in the morning hours will be limited in places. Winds will blow from northerly directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea 5 to 6 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly.
