Mimis Domazos: Third critical 24 hours for the “General” in ICU

Hospital sources point out that Mimis Domazos' heart function has been optimally restored

Newsroom January 24 07:28

The veteran footballer, Mimis Domazos, is spending his third critical 24 hours intubated in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of the Red Cross Hospital.

His health after suffering a cardiac arrest is critical, with doctors monitoring him closely. The patient underwent a stend and an implantable device was placed for heart failure.

Hospital sources point out that Mimi Domazos’heart function has been optimally restored. If he continues to be in stable condition today an attempt will begin to wake him up and disconnect from mechanical ventilatory support. A critical parameter, according to the same sources, is a possible neurological deficit that hypoxia after the cardiac arrest may have left to the veteran football player.

Mimis Domazos suffered a cardiac arrest while he was out of a private diagnostic center in Chalandri on Wednesday. The mobilization of the ambulance was immediate.

Although he was taken to the resuscitation department of the “Red Cross” ICU without a pulse and heart activity, the doctors managed to revive the 83-year-old footballer. It was a first small victory in the difficult battle of Mimi Domazos,

As it was reported, the player, despite it being his birthday on Wednesday, visited the well-known diagnostic center to undergo a chest CT scan, as he had reportedly been ill with coronavirus and was suffering from shortness of breath.
