The father of 3-year-old Angelos in Crete in disguise – Receiving death threats, says his cousin

His relative claims that he traveled to see the child after the abuse – "We have no more words to say and no more tears to shed"

Newsroom February 5 11:35

The cousin of Angelos’ biological father spoke to protothema.gr about the pain the family is experiencing over the loss of the 3-year-old boy, while also expressing anger over what the child endured at the hands of the 26-year-old mother and her 44-year-old partner.

“We’re trying to find out when and where the funeral will take place. Hopefully, we’ll be informed, because the father wants to be with him,” she initially stated.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t have the child with us. My cousin had contact with him for a while, but then she (the mother) took him, disappeared, and left. If only we had realized what was happening, we would have taken the child back with us,” she added.

She also revealed, “Dimitris (Angelos’ biological father), as far as I know, was in Crete in disguise (in the days after the child’s abuse). This is because there are threats against his life and because he never officially recognized the child.”

“We have no more words to say and no more tears to shed. He was supposed to bring the child back because he hadn’t seen him in person for eight months. The little one kept saying, ‘Daddy, come take me,’ but they wouldn’t let him,” she added.

The Body of the 3-Year-Old Arrives in Athens

Shortly after 7 a.m., the ship carrying the body of 3-year-old Angelos, the boy who took his last breath after being abused by his mother and her partner, arrived at the port of Piraeus.

As was announced yesterday, the child’s funeral will take place in Athens, with the death notice sending chills down the spine.

The unsigned text reads: “Safe travels, our little Angelos. The least I could do for you is to send you to Heaven with dignity, among the angels like you, because here, you only knew Hell.”

After Angelos’ tragic death, his grandmother decided to donate his organs. His heart will be transplanted into a 3-year-old child in Berlin, Germany, while his kidneys will go to a 37-year-old patient at the Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki.
