Two arrests for motorcycle theft and drugs in Neo Psychiko

Fake banknotes and jewelry were also found in the possession of the young men

Two young men, aged 18 and 17, were arrested on Sunday night in Neo Psychiko, facing charges for violations of drug and weapons laws, joint theft, and possession of counterfeit banknotes.

According to ELAS (Hellenic Police), officers from the DIAS motorcycle unit spotted the two young men riding a motorcycle during a patrol and proceeded to stop them for a check.

It was discovered that the motorcycle had been stolen a few days earlier from the Ampelokipi area. A subsequent search of their belongings led to the seizure of:

  • 30 grams of unprocessed cannabis,
  • a small amount of MDMA,
  • 166 pharmaceutical pills,
  • a pepper spray canister,
  • €425 in cash,
  • counterfeit banknotes, and
  • various pieces of jewelry.

According to ELAS, the suspects have previously come to the attention of authorities for similar offenses.

The arrested individuals were taken before the competent Prosecutor following the case file compiled against them by the Filothei-Psychiko Crimes Investigation and Resolution Department.
