“I attended today at the “Agios Savvas” Hospital at the “Nikos Kourkoulos” Day Care Center, a major donation of Mrs. Marianna Latsis.

10 years ago we inaugurated this Center together and 10 years later it has reached 28,000 cases per year and performs over 2000 surgeries. When we inaugurated this Center at that time, the misery gang of the left had gathered and were shouting why we accepted the donation. Today everyone was proud of its operation.

But Mrs Marianna Latsis’ real and continued interest in this Center was demonstrated again a few days ago, when she was asked to help us maintain a much-needed machine worth €250,000 and instead of repairing it, she immediately donated a brand new one.

During the ceremony, however, Mrs Marianna Latsis decided to announce her new major donation. Specifically, she will build from scratch and donate a new Day Care Center “Nikos Kourkoulos” at the General Hospital of Rio in Patras. Thus, the patients of Western Greece will be able to receive their treatments with dignity.

My gratitude for all her donations in general and for this decision is immense. I thank her, as Health Minister, on behalf of all patients, as I thank all NHS donors, without their generosity many great things could not have been achieved!“
