In an atmosphere of deep sorrow, family and friends bid farewell for the last time to the unfortunate Koula at the Church of Agios Georgios in Apollonia, Thessaloniki.

Both her daughter, who lives in Germany, and her son, who has been incarcerated in Nigrita Prison for drug-related offenses, said their farewells. He was granted special permission to attend his mother’s funeral. As seen in the images, police escorted him to the church, and he was under guard throughout the funeral service.

It is recalled that the crime was revealed on the morning of Thursday, when the 59-year-old husband called the police and reported that he had killed his wife and was going to end his life. When the officers arrived at the couple’s house, they found the 52-year-old woman dead and launched a manhunt to locate the perpetrator. Shortly thereafter, the charred body of the 59-year-old was discovered in a barn just a few meters from the village.
