Mitsotakis at the Ministry of Infrastructure – Welcomed by Dimas, Kyranakis, Tachiaos

"Greece of the Thessaloniki Metro and new electric buses must overcome the Greece of the old OSE," the Prime Minister emphasized at the first cabinet meeting after the reshuffle

Newsroom March 18 11:29

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport just after 10 a.m.

This marks his second visit to a ministry following the recent government reshuffle—after his stop at the Ministry of National Economy and Finance on Monday—signaling his push for accelerating governmental initiatives across key ministries.

At the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Mitsotakis will meet with the new Minister, Christos Dimas, Deputy Minister of Transport, Kostas Kyranakis, and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Nikos Tachiaos.

“We must bring about a major transformation. Just as we turned the painful, tragic experience of Mati into the ‘112’ emergency alert system and a modern civil protection framework that saves lives, Greece of the Thessaloniki Metro and new electric buses must prevail over Greece of the old OSE,” Mitsotakis stated during Saturday’s cabinet meeting, outlining the mandate for the ministry’s new leadership.

Furthermore, Mitsotakis urged Dimas and Kyranakis—both from the younger generation of politicians—to “sweep away” any resistance from the past, assuring them of his political support in this endeavor.
