The world’s largest and newest cruise ship will dock at the seaport of Piraeus on Tuesday, it was announced on Monday.
The 330-meters-long “Regal Princess” was built in Italy; it weighs 142,714 tons, has a 50-member crew and its 18 decks featuring 1,780 staterooms that can accommodate 3,560 passengers.
The cruise ship’s captain Edward Perrin will be welcomed by Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA S.A.) chairman & CEO Yiorgos Anomeritis in a formal event on June 23.
“Regal Princess”, on an inaugural cruise of the Greek islands, embarked on its maiden voyage on May 16. Her amenities include two public areas extending over the side of the ship on the top deck called the SeaWalkSM and SeaView Bar, the largest ever Princess Cruises Movies Under the Stars, an expanded atrium, a new small aft pool area, and numerous casual dining options.
