Monaco – Panathinaikos 76-88: Nunn celebrates new contract and secures playoff spot for the “Greens”

Monaco - Panathinaikos 76-88

Newsroom April 3 10:08

Panathinaikos made a dominant statement at the principality, defeating Monaco 76-88 and securing their spot in the top four of the EuroLeague as the regular season draws to a close. The “Greens” were in control throughout the game, with Kendrick Nunn shining once again, proving himself as the team’s leader.

Nunn: “Leader” and Game Changer

The American guard, who recently signed an extension with the team, was in stellar form, contributing 21 points and making critical plays throughout the game. With the score at 41-49 at halftime, Nunn took over in the second half, hitting crucial three-pointers and driving to the basket with authority, increasing the lead and leading Panathinaikos to a key victory.

Outstanding Team Play and Defense

Panathinaikos did not rely solely on their offensive output. Coach Ergin Ataman’s squad also displayed exceptional defense, limiting Monaco’s attacks, especially in the final minutes when the home team started to gain momentum. Panathinaikos managed to break through Monaco’s pressing defense, exploiting their weaknesses effectively.

Monaco’s Response and Panathinaikos’ Efficiency

Despite Panathinaikos’ early dominance, Monaco fought back in the second quarter, mainly due to the efforts of Mike James and standout performances from Elie Okobo and Alpha Diallo. However, Panathinaikos kept their composure and maintained their lead through steady play. In the fourth quarter, Nunn again took charge with a series of key baskets that sealed the victory.
