Mitsotakis from Tzaneio: The NHS is changing, the money of the Recovery Fund does not go to the few

In two years we will have many, many fully equipped and state-of-the-art Emergency Departments in all major hospitals and we will have upgraded over 150 Health Centers

Newsroom April 11 12:52

Kyriakos Mitsotakis was at the Tzaneio hospital today to see “the great progress” in the renovation works carried out over the last 15 months.

“Essentially, we are talking about a new hospital that has nothing to envy from the best hospitals in the private sector and we are really proud that we can endow the National Health System with such infrastructure,” Mitsotakis said.

As he said, “the best proof that something is indeed changing in the National Health System is the smiles of satisfaction of both patients and especially of employees, who remember what Tzaneio was like before and recognize the enormous progress that has been made.”

Speaking about the funding of projects from the Recovery Fund, the Prime Minister reiterated that “this project, like many others, which will be delivered in the next period of time, are being funded from European resources and especially from the Recovery Fund. This is the best proof that the resources of the recovery fund are not directed to the few, as some insist, but ultimately enable us to upgrade infrastructure that serves the many.”

“The National Health System is changing. Two years from now we will have too many fully equipped and state-of-the-art Emergency Departments in all our major hospitals. We will have upgraded more than 150 Health Centres and we will have put into practice our commitment that we are building step by step, stone by stone, a new National Health System for all Greeks,” the Prime Minister said, adding that he congratulated “the administration and all those who have worked to accomplish this important task. It is not easy to renovate a hospital on the go, because the hospital obviously has to continue to function.“
