Toronto’s Pearson International Airport was in disarray Thursday morning when Terminal 1 was evacuated due to a police operation following unconfirmed reports of a shooting incident.

Ontario police announced via a post on the X platform that roads leading to Terminal 1 departures have been closed due to a “police investigation”, urging people to avoid the area.

CP24 reporter Courtney Hills posted video from the scene, which captured a heavy police presence and traffic congestion. According to her, an eyewitness reported that “dozens of police officers arrived armed.”
