Fthiotida: A pack of wolves was running around the plain of Sperechio in the middle of the day

"Great care is needed. I was surprised that it was broad daylight. It's the time of year when we work in the fields for the kiwis. Women are involved in the work and there is fear," said a local farmer

Newsroom May 11 01:11

Even in broad daylight, wolves descend on the villages of the Sperxeios plain. “I froze when suddenly five wolves appeared through the trees…” he will say in ilamia.gr resident of the Local Community of Kastri of the Municipality of Makrakomi, about the unexpected “encounter” he had in broad daylight with a pack of wolves outside the village.

“There must have been three others hiding in the trees, but they were not aggressive…” the farmer will say.

The incident happened at noon on Friday (9/5), when the farmer was returning from his field and ran into the wolves.

“Great care is needed. I was surprised that it was broad daylight. It’s the time of year when we work in the fields for kiwi fruit. Women are involved in the work and there is fear.”

He told ilamia.gr that this is not the first time wolves have appeared in the area where there are livestock farms. “However so many gathered and in broad daylight was the first time…,” the farmer said.
