Eurovision 2025: Greece to the final with enchanting Klavdia – “For Greece,” she wrote after the nail-biting announcement (videos)

Klauvdia performed "Asteromata," leaving no room for the television audience to indulge in its favorite habit: division

Newsroom May 16 09:54

It was a Eurovision Semi-Final that had everything. Interesting entries, a variety of aesthetics, great pacing, excellent organization, suspense and tension combined with surprises in the results, superb commentary and narration by the duo Kozakou–Kapoutzidis, and a girl who, when she stepped on stage to perform “Asteromata,” left no room for the Greek TV audience to indulge in its favorite habit: division.

Klavdia was a performer who more than deserved to advance — and to be applauded. Her voice, her interpretation of the song, her stage presence, demeanor, and reactions were all worthy of nothing but praise. And although the recognition came late, it did come — bringing joy to the viewers who watched the thrilling Semi-Final unfold.

The fact that she was announced as the tenth and final qualifier heightened the tension for viewers, who had already flooded social media with enthusiastic praise and hymns to her performance. Worthy indeed.

The young singer performed 7th in the lineup and delivered a flawless performance. With Fokas Evangelinos as creative director, the staging balanced emotion and theatricality, an excellent rendition free of mistakes, with no excess or movement that could disturb the magical equilibrium. Her motion toward a rock, symbolizing a human journey toward light — with swift and stunning shifts in lighting and stage visuals culminating in a symbolic farewell — created a powerful and complete result.

She welcomed her qualification to Saturday’s final with tears.

Striking and deeply moving was the contrast of black and white in her dress, evoking a powerful symbolism of emergence into the light. The announcement of the result thrilled everyone, and social media erupted in admiration for this wonderful artist.

The countries that were eliminated were:

Australia – Go-Jo – Milkshake Man
Montenegro – Nina Žižić – Dobrodošli
Ireland – Emmy – Laika Party
Georgia – Mariam Shengelia – Freedom
Czech Republic – Adonxs – Kiss Kiss Goodbye
Serbia – Princ – Mila

From the first Semi-Final, the following countries qualified:

The announcement of the ten qualifiers again followed the new reveal format first tested in Semi-Final 1: three countries were shown at a time, with only one ultimately announced as a qualifier. This method worked effectively.

The Grand Final will take place on Saturday, May 17th at 22:00 Greek time, featuring 26 countries. In addition to Switzerland (host country) and the “Big 5” (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK), the final will include 20 countries that qualified through the two semi-finals.
