Official end for Attica TV – How employees will be compensated

What was announced to staff – Programming stops as of today

Newsroom May 26 05:53

The collaboration between Wide Media Group, the managing company, and the Municipality of Aspropyrgos is officially coming to an end, with the television station Attica TV entering a new phase starting in June. The announcement was made this afternoon by the Group’s CEO, Yiannis Dallas, during an internal briefing to employees.

According to reports, the managing company will not renew its collaboration with the municipality and will cease managing the TV station at the end of May. Programming on Attica TV, which Wide Media Group had been managing from 5:00 PM onward, ends today, Monday, May 26.

Mr. Dallas explained that significant efforts were made for the Group to acquire full ownership of the station, as part of a strategy to build a unified and strong television brand. However, a mutually satisfactory agreement could not be reached.

Although the managers’ active involvement will end in late May, the company will continue to fulfill its contractual obligations for producing municipal content until September. At the same time, an employee exit program was presented, offering severance packages of up to six months’ salary, to ensure, as emphasized, a smooth and fair transition for everyone.

“I’m very proud of the team that was built over these years. You showed integrity, hard work, and consistency. Whatever we created, we created it together – and that doesn’t change,”
said Attica TV’s News Director, Christos Machairas, addressing the employees.
