Lena Zevgara’s lawyer clarifies angry social media post is not related to banner at SEF

Lena Zevgara’s lawyer clarified that the singer’s angry post on social media on Sunday, June 8, 2025, is not connected to a banner with her photo displayed at the SEF basketball arena during a game between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos

Newsroom June 10 10:20

The lawyer, Petros Kaimakamis, explained the post was a response to a flood of offensive, defamatory, and threatening messages she received on social media. These included extremely abusive comments and threats such as wishing illness and harm on her and her family.

The singer denies any involvement with rumors linking her to a well-known basketball player, whom she does not even know personally.

Kaïmakamis condemned the sexist targeting and bullying Lena is facing, calling for this behavior not to be tolerated. He emphasized that Lena is taking legal action to protect her integrity and reputation.

Lena’s original social media post said: “You should be ashamed, soon you will face justice.” Since she didn’t specify who she was addressing, many assumed she referred to those who displayed the banner.

The lawyer’s statement urges reflection on how unacceptable it is for a woman to endure such harsh and sexist harassment without cause.
