Airports reopen in Israel – “We are entering a new phase, an important chapter against Tehran is over” say the IDF

Trump asked Netanyahu not to bomb Iran – Netanyahu responded that “it’s too late” as the fighter jets had already taken off

Newsroom June 24 09:49

Iran has not yet reopened its airspace, according to the news website of the Young Journalists Club, citing statements from a spokesperson for the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

The spokesperson stated that no such decision has been made.

Earlier, the specialized website Flightradar24, which monitors air traffic worldwide, claimed that Iranian airspace, as well as Iraqi airspace, had reopened for international flights to and from Tehran.

Israel’s main international airport, Ben Gurion, is returning to full operation following the decision by the Home Front Command to lift all restrictions, according to the Israel Airports Authority.

“The restrictions on the number of incoming and outgoing flights, as well as the number of passengers on each flight, have been lifted,” the Israel Airports Authority stated. “In addition, restrictions on the arrival of passengers and escorts at the airports have also been lifted.”

Starting tomorrow morning, duty-free shops at the airports will resume operation in accordance with security guidelines and regulations.

The Israel Airports Authority advises the public to follow airline announcements and stay informed on the latest updates regarding flight schedules.

IDF Chief: An important chapter against Iran has ended, but the campaign continues

While the fragile ceasefire with Iran, which came into effect today, remains in place, the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi (note: in Greek, the article referred to Eyal Zamir, who was previously Deputy Chief of Staff – if this refers to a recent development, assume name alignment), warns that the conflict with Tehran is not over and urges continued vigilance.

“Despite the significant achievement, we must keep our feet on the ground. Many challenges lie ahead. We must stay focused; there is no time for complacency,” said Zamir during an operational assessment, according to excerpts released by the Israeli armed forces.

The Israeli general emphasized that although a major chapter in the military confrontation with Iran has concluded, the campaign is not over. “We are entering a new phase, based on the achievements of the current operation. We have delayed Iran’s nuclear program by years, and the same goes for its missile program,” he said pointedly.

Israel’s focus now shifts back to the Gaza Strip, with Zamir stating that the next strategic priority is the return of the hostages and the dismantling of Hamas’ rule.

“Now the priority is Gaza, the return of the hostages, and the overthrow of Hamas’ regime,” he said, signaling a transition to a new phase of operations following recent developments on the Iranian front.
