Diane von Fürstenberg’s summer getaway in the Greek islands – Posts from Spetses, Sifnos, Nisyros, and Kos

The iconic designer explores the magic of Greece, from whitewashed villages to ancient ruins, capturing sun-soaked moments across the Aegean

Newsroom July 31 04:40

Fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg spent part of her July vacation hopping around the Greek islands—and she shared her adventures online for everyone to see. She visited Spetses, Sifnos, Nisyros, and Kos, taking in the beauty of the Dodecanese, the Cyclades, and the Saronic Gulf.

Her most recent post came from Spetses on July 27, where she snapped photos of the sea, the sunset, and even a local church. “End of a beautiful day in Spetses,” she captioned one of the photos.

Back on July 21, she posted about her trip to Sifnos. Her photos showed off the island’s classic whitewashed houses, charming little alleyways, and a picturesque dome of a small church—very much in line with that dreamy Cycladic vibe.

Just a few days before that, she had been on the volcanic island of Nisyros. On Instagram, she shared a photo of the endless blue sea and wrote: “The beautiful volcanic island of Nisyros.”

Her trip actually started in Kos, where on July 2 she visited the ancient Asklepieion (a healing center from the 5th century BC) and the Casa Romana (a Roman house from the 2nd century AD). “Kos, Greece. A visit to: The Asklepieion, where Hippocrates founded the first School of Medicine,” she noted in her caption.

Earlier this summer, Diane also posted a moment from a boat outing where she was hanging out with Hollywood actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Her husband Barry Diller, her granddaughter, and other family members were there too. She didn’t mention exactly where they were, but McConaughey had recently been vacationing in Antiparos.

So, whether it was exploring ancient ruins or enjoying sunsets by the sea, Diane von Fürstenberg’s Greek island tour looked like the perfect mix of culture, beauty, and relaxation.
