RealPolls Survey: Slight rise for New Democracy after the Thessaloniki Fair – Opposition parties in single digits

New Democracy (ND) gathers 23.8% in voting intention compared to just 9.7% for PASOK – Citizens negative about a Tsipras-led or Samaras-led party

A RealPolls survey for protagon.gr, conducted September 10–11, after the Prime Minister’s speech and press conference at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), on a sample of 1,820 people, shows a slight rise for New Democracy and single-digit scores for the opposition parties.

In voting intention, ND maintains a 14.1-point lead over PASOK, with 23.8%, marking a marginal increase compared to July’s measurement of 23.7%.

The opposition is struggling. PASOK reaches 9.7%, followed by Greek Solution at 7.1%, KKE at 5.9%, Course of Freedom at 5.8%, SYRIZA at 5.6%, and Voice of Logic at 3.8%. Meanwhile, 20.4% of respondents say they are undecided.

In the electoral outcome projection, ND stands at 27.9%. Next come PASOK at 13.8%, Greek Solution at 10.8%, Course of Freedom at 9.5%, SYRIZA at 7.9%, and KKE at 7.6%. MeRA25 gathers 6.3% and Voice of Logic 5.3%. Another 4.2% say “other party.”

Citizens negative about a Tsipras or Samaras party

Respondents were asked: “How likely is it that you would vote for a party led by Alexis Tsipras?”

  • 64.5% answered “not at all likely.”
  • 12.7% said “very likely,”
  • 9.1% “quite likely,”
  • 11.1% “somewhat likely.”

For Antonis Samaras, 72.6% said it was “not at all likely” they would vote for him. Only 3.2% said “very likely,” 7% “quite likely,” and 15% “somewhat likely.”

On the Thessaloniki Fair measures

Regarding the measures announced by the Prime Minister at the TIF, 38.7% of citizens judged them either “very positive” or “somewhat positive,” while 54.4% considered them “very negative” or “somewhat negative.”

When asked “Do you believe the economic measures announced will improve your daily life?” the majority said no:

  • 26.6% “probably not,”
  • 47% “definitely not,”
  • 6% “definitely yes,”
  • 16.8% “probably yes.”

Main concern: covering basic needs

  • 32.9% say their income “covers basic needs, but with difficulty.”
  • 32% say it “covers basic needs without allowing for savings.”
  • 18.2% say it “does not even cover basic daily needs.”
  • 12.1% say it “covers needs and leaves a little for savings.”

When asked “If the current government changes, do you believe your economic situation and living conditions will improve?”:

  • 9.4% answered “definitely improve,”
  • 26.4% “probably improve,”
  • 17.6% “remain the same,”
  • 15.4% “probably worsen,”
  • 14.1% “definitely worsen,”
  • 17% “don’t know/no answer.”
