US President Donald Trump decided last Thursday night to “end” US trade negotiations with Canada, accusing Canadian authorities of misrepresenting statements made by his predecessor, Republican Ronald Reagan, as part of a publicity campaign against raising customs tariffs.

“Because of their outrageous behavior, all trade negotiations with Canada are hereby terminated,” the Republican asserted via Truth Social, typing the last sentence with all capital letters, as is his custom.
