Kaja Kallas in Cyprus on Wednesday

The visit will take place in the context of Cyprus' upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU, but also to cooperate on key issues such as the situation in Gaza and Ukraine

The EU High Representative and Head of the European External Action Service, Kaja Kallas, will visit Cyprus the day after tomorrow, 5 November, ahead of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which begins on 1 January 2026.

As confirmed to the Cyprus News Agency by the European Commission’s Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs, Anita Hipper, the High Representative’s visit is linked to the upcoming Presidency, as well as ongoing cooperation on key issues such as the situation in Gaza and Ukraine, and the EU’s continued support for Kyiv.

The Commission has not yet released the full programme of the visit. However, according to reports, the High Representative is expected to hold meetings in Nicosia on Wednesday afternoon with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Kombos, and the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna.
