Zelenski calls for the resignations of the Justice and Energy Ministers over the corruption scandal

He stressed that "if there are charges, they must be held accountable"

Newsroom November 12 06:06

Volodimir Zelenski has called for the resignations of the justice minister and the energy minister, stressing that the decision is related to the need for transparency and accountability amid allegations of corruption in the energy sector.

The Ukrainian president said that “the justice minister and the energy minister cannot remain in their positions,” explaining that the issue is primarily a matter of trust. As he said, “if there are accusations, they must be held accountable.” At the same time, he stressed that the decision to remove them from office is “immediate” and added that he has asked the Ukrainian Prime Minister to receive the resignations of the two ministers.

At the same time, he called on members of the Ukrainian parliament to support these resignations, noting that the case should then be examined at the “judicial level.”
