Northern Greece will see less Russian tourists compared to last year due to the economic crisis in their country, according to Russian consulate envoy in Thessaloniki Alexei Popov. “Their number will be less, due to the fluctuating exchange rate between the ruble and the euro, but their number will be enough”.
“They have gotten used to visiting and having fun, especially due to religious tourism”.
Concerning fruit exports from Northern Greece to Russia, he added that there cannot be an exception from the embargo, but there are talks that raw material by Greek producers be exported to Russia.
