Google: What Greek people searched for the most in 2025 — Earthquakes, Greek teams, celebrities, ENFIA

Google’s annual review for 2025 highlights two main trends that shaped user interest

Newsroom December 5 11:49

The Google “Year in Search 2025” captures what drew the most attention from Greeks this year, showcasing the keywords that saw the biggest rise in searches.

At the top of the list were terms linked to both current events and everyday obligations, such as “Earthquake now,” “Social Tourism 2025,” “Personal Number,” and “ENFIA 2025.” “University Entry Bases 2025” remained particularly high, while the popular “Labubu” also saw a major increase.

In the category of public figures, searches focused on Claudia, Chryssi Vardinogianni, and Giorgos Mazonakis. Among personalities who passed away, the most notable names were Alexis Kougias, Ozzy Osbourne, David Lynch, Kaiti Grey, and Mimis Domazos.

Sports events had a strong presence, with Eurobasket dominating, along with Greek team matchups that generated great interest, such as AEK–Olympiacos and Olympiacos–Panathinaikos. In TV and film, audiences searched for series and movies like “Call Me Mom,” “Saint Eros,” “Squid Game,” “Nosferatu,” and “Anora.” At the same time, searches relating to recipes, “what does it mean” questions, and “who is” queries also saw notable increases.

Google’s yearly review for 2025 reflects two core user interests: the need for immediate information on topics affecting daily life and the increased search for entertainment-related content.

Top keywords like “Earthquake now,” “Social Tourism 2025,” and “ENFIA 2025” confirm the focus on timely updates, while searches for series, films, and viral trends show the strong influence of pop culture and the internet on Greek online behavior.
