Anna Vissi: Triumph, millions, her great love and a finale

Anna Vissi’s triumphant year of live performances concluded with scenes the Greek music industry will not easily forget

Newsroom December 9 10:38

The Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) was filled for two consecutive nights, with more than 130,000 spectators creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a world-class festival. Revenues reached five million euros and, after the high but expected production costs, the net profit is estimated to have reached unprecedented levels for Greek music standards.

This success confirms that Vissi remains at the very top, with her popularity only appearing to grow stronger over the years. At the same time, the strong charitable dimension of the concerts — with a significant amount donated to the “ELPIDA” foundation — added to the image of an artist who combines success with social contribution.

Amid this momentum, Anna Vissi returns (possibly for the last year on the nightlife circuit), with the start of her shows at HOTEL Ermou already considered one of the major events of the winter entertainment season.

But beyond the stage, Vissi stands out for another element that has consistently followed her career: her love for fast cars. Her relationship with performance driving isn’t new, but in recent years it has become even more pronounced, with choices that show she remains enthusiastic and daring behind the wheel. Her most recent acquisition, a 2023 Porsche 911 Turbo, reveals the extent of that passion. The iconic German sports car — a symbol of power and precision — fits her image perfectly: aggressive, fast, yet completely controlled.

The latest generation of the 911 Turbo, the 992, is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine, producing 580 hp in the Turbo version and over 650 hp in the Turbo S. The eight-speed PDK gearbox and standard all-wheel drive deliver 0–100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, placing it alongside hypercars costing far more. Its top speed reaches 320 km/h, maintaining the confidence and stability that have defined Porsche for decades.

For Vissi, the 911 Turbo is not just a fast car — it is yet another way to express the energy and dynamism that follow her onto every stage. And it seems the artist is entering yet another period of intense pace, blending success, passion, and an inexhaustible creative force.
