Actor Alberto Eskenazi passed away at the age of 73

Actor Alberto Eskenazy has passed away at the age of 73 after a battle with cancer that he had been fighting in recent years

He was admitted to the oncology hospital Agioi Anargyroi, where he passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, December 15.

Alberto Eskenazi was born in Thessaloniki in 1952 to a family of Jewish descent. He spent his childhood and teenage years there. He studied acting at the Drama School of the National Theatre, and after graduating, he starred in numerous television series—particularly during the 1980s—while also appearing in theater productions, feature films, and direct-to-video movies.

Early in his career, he collaborated with Kostas Kazakos and Jenny Karezi. Among his most notable performances were his roles in the dramatic television series “The Notary” (O Symvolaiografos) and “The Light of the Evening Star” (To Fos tou Avgerinou), in which he co-starred with Koralia Karanti. He also lent his voice to animated film dubbing.
