Christos Markogiannakis honored as Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters

The prestigious award ceremony took place in Paris

Christos Markogiannakis was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic during an official ceremony held at a central museum in Paris.

The award was presented by Stéphane Bern, author, presenter, and historian, head of the Mission for the Protection of Cultural Heritage under the auspices of the French President.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, artists, writers, and journalists.

This honor confirms the international recognition of Christos Markogiannakis’ work and his contribution to literature and culture.

Christos Markogiannakis was born and raised in Heraklion, Crete. He studied Law and Criminology in Athens and Paris and has worked as a lawyer. In recent years, he has been living in the French capital. He is an author of crime fiction and essay books on the aesthetics of crime, creator of the concept “criminart,” and a member of the Crime Writers’ Association. His book “Novel with a Key” won the Mediterranean Crime Novel Prize 2023 (Prix Méditerranée du Polar 2023).
