RealPolls: New Democracy above its European election result, Plefsi returns to second place – With a change of leader ND loses nearly two points, PASOK gains 5.5

The appeal of Tsipras and Karystianou as reflected in the Real Polls survey for Protagon – What is recorded in voting intention and projected election results – SYRIZA sinks

Newsroom January 14 10:44

Real Polls measured New Democracy (ND) at 28.7% in estimated voting share, with a 15.1-point lead over Plefsi Eleftherias, which returned to second place, according to the poll presented by protagon.gr. This percentage is higher than ND’s performance in the June 2024 European elections (28.31%), but lower than its results in the twin parliamentary elections of 2023. Notably, this is the governing party’s best performance in the past six months.

In a hypothetical scenario in which all parties contest elections with a different leader, ND loses almost two percentage points, while PASOK gains 5.5 points, reaching 15.7%.

The company recorded shifts within the opposition landscape, as Zoë Konstantopoulou’s party returned to second place with 13.6%, up from 11.8% in December, while PASOK loses more than 1.5 points, falling to 10.3% in estimated voting share, from 12.5% in mid-December.

At 12%–14%: Tsipras and Karystianou reshape the opposition

Against the backdrop of discussions about a possible Tsipras party and a Karystianou party, SYRIZA is sinking: it drops to 4.1% in voting intention and 5.3% in projected election results.

The remaining parties are broadly stable, with Greek Solution at 6.9% in voting intention and 9% in projected results (+0.3), the KKE at 6.3% and 7.7% (-0.1), Foni Logikis at 3.6% and 4.3% (-0.5), and MeRA25 at 2.8% and 4.5% (+0.1).

Of particular interest is the increase in those saying they would vote for “another party”: from 7% in December, the figure jumps to 12.1%, while undecided voters were measured at 14.8%.
