Investigation by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office into Fidias, complaint that he presented a mansion in Limassol as an office

The complainants provided evidence indicating that the MEP had rented the mansion in Limassol for a monthly cost of around €5,000–€6,000 and was hosting…parties there

The Greek-Cypriot MEP Fidias Panayiotou is under the microscope of an investigation by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office following complaints about possible misuse of EU funds.

According to information from Politis, the investigation against the MEP began after complaints were filed with the Anti-Corruption Authority about two months ago. The same sources report that the complainants submitted evidence to the Anti-Corruption Authority showing that the MEP had rented a mansion in Limassol, which he labeled as “offices,” at a monthly cost of around €5,000–€6,000.

The complaints even allege that the MEP uses the mansion as a holiday residence and hosts various parties there.

The Anti-Corruption Authority examined the complaints against the MEP and subsequently forwarded the evidence to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, along with observations from the investigation conducted by the Authority itself in Cyprus.
