Reza Pahlavi: Calls for global protests on 14 February against the regime in Iran

According to the call, rallies are planned in key cities, including Munich, Los Angeles and Toronto, where strong Iranian diaspora communities are active.

Newsroom February 3 01:25

Exiled Iranian heir to the throne and prominent opposition figure Reza Pahlavi has called for mass demonstrations worldwide, designating February 14 as a “World Day of Action” in support of what he described as the “Lion and Sun Revolution” in Iran.

In a statement posted Monday on X, Pahlavi urged Iranians living abroad, along with international supporters of Iran’s anti-regime movement, to gather in major cities across the globe to pressure the international community into taking concrete action against the Islamic Republic.

Rallies are planned in key cities, including Munich, Los Angeles, and Toronto, where large and active Iranian diaspora communities are based. Pahlavi argues that coordinated international mobilization can significantly increase pressure on governments and international organizations to adopt a tougher stance toward Tehran.

Pahlavi is the son of Iran’s last shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was overthrown in 1979 during the Islamic Revolution that led to the establishment of the current theocratic regime. In recent years, he has emerged as one of the most recognizable voices of the Iranian opposition in exile, openly advocating regime change and seeking to unite disparate anti-regime groups outside Iran.
