Geroulanos: I was proven right saying we have a small window until Christmas because after that Karystianos’ and Tsipras’ parties come

He hinted at leaks from closed meetings of PASOK bodies: “If the goal is inertia, things are going perfectly”

Newsroom February 13 12:32

Feeling vindicated for the warning he made back in September, when he first spoke about the “stuck needle” and said that PASOK has a small window until Christmas because new parties like those of Karystianos and Tsipras are coming, Pavlos Geroulanos stated on Friday:

“Was I proven right? Yes. I urged PASOK officials to move faster,” he said on Friday morning on OPEN.

However, when asked if he would raise the issue of Androulakis at the congress, he replied, “Are you out of your mind? He is our president, we will support him until the end so we can go into the elections as strong as possible.”

“The problem is that instead of responding to issues that concern society, noise is created because something was said in one committee or another, and this needs to stop—both from us and from journalists,” Geroulanos added.

Responding to criticism that his statements challenge the leadership, Geroulanos said, “Tell me one thing I have done along the way that could be considered a challenge. When you make proposals to the party bodies, it is not a challenge but concern for PASOK to do better.”

He explained, in this context, that “the president will decide if bringing a proposal to the table in closed bodies is a reason for expulsion. In the last meeting, when I left, I saw my dialogue was already known by people outside. If we start fearing to voice our opinions, we will remain inactive. If the goal is inertia, things are going perfectly. I believe that whatever you have to say, you should say it inside the party bodies.”
